VH March Madness
History
The Varsity House March Madness Challenge was originally created in 1964 at the inception of the house. The organizer was Theodore Maximilius Varsity March Tudwilligen XII (see picture to right). Under his direction, the March Madness Challenge experienced many years of success and profitibility. All participating VH residents enjoyed the competitiveness, sportsmanship, basketball and small-scale, low-risk gambling. All the people at Antioch were very jealous. The VH March Madness success continued for many years until what was known as "The Debacle of '79.'
In March of 1979, the Varsity House March Madness Challenge suddenly stopped. After 15 years of growing prosperity, the whole thing collapsed. No history or explanation remains as to why the sudden cease in action occurred. Some speculation remains that some disgruntled and envious members of Courtyard sabotaged the event, but all Courtyard residents vehemently denied those accusations. Regardless, a continual shadow was cast over Varsity House that became increasingly apparent every March.
But then came 2015 and the VH March Madness Challenge returned and thrived better than ever. Austin Morey volunteered to serve as the financial manager (and went on to win the entire pool) and Josh Worden scored all the brackets.
God Bless!
